For hire as a remote senior mobile and AI engineer in the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. Ali Wajdan is a senior Flutter, SwiftUI, and Node.js engineer based in Lahore, Pakistan, with five years of experience building production mobile apps and the AI and backend services behind them. Experience with Anthropic Claude and OpenAI integrations, RevenueCat subscriptions, Firebase backends, FastAPI services, and Stripe payments. Open to remote full-time employment or long-term contract work. Five hours of overlap with European working hours, three hours with US East Coast. Available to hire as a Flutter engineer, iOS engineer, AI mobile app developer, full-stack mobile app developer, or senior mobile engineer, full-time or on a fixed-scope project.

Senior Mobile Engineer for Remote Startup Teams

I'm the senior mobile hire who takes ownership instead of waiting for tickets. That means picking the architecture, coordinating with whoever owns the backend (often me), making the call on native versus cross-platform, writing the tests, and getting the release out. For a small team, it's the difference between a mobile app that drifts and one that ships on a schedule.

The short version

Ali Wajdan is a senior mobile engineer for remote startup teams who owns more than just the UI: product decisions, architecture, backend coordination, and releases. He has five years of experience, 15+ shipped apps, and roughly 500,000 combined users. He built DreamyBot, a 100,000-user app, end to end as the sole engineer, and on Monetiza (120,000+ users) he picked the architecture, shipped both stores, and grew subscription revenue 11x in the first year. He writes Flutter and SwiftUI on the front end and Node.js and FastAPI on the back end, uses Claude Code and Cursor daily, and ships with tests on the flows that matter. He works remotely from Lahore (GMT+5) with five hours of EU overlap and three with US-East, taking one remote full-time role at a time or a long-term contract of six months or more.

/ When to hire me

  • You need a senior who owns the mobile app, not a junior who needs one.
  • Your team is small and you want one person accountable for mobile end to end.
  • You need architecture and release decisions made by someone who's shipped before.
  • You want a remote engineer who works async cleanly across timezones.

/ What I build

  • Mobile architecture decisions you won't have to unwind in six months.
  • The app and, when needed, the backend it depends on.
  • A test and release discipline: CI, staged rollouts, and real coverage.
  • Code review and mentoring for less senior engineers on the team.
  • Honest scoping: what to build now, what to cut, and what to defer.
  • Clean documentation so the team isn't dependent on any one person.

FAQ
  • What makes you a senior mobile engineer, not just a Flutter dev?

I own the decisions, not just the code: architecture, native versus cross-platform, the backend coordination, the test and release discipline, and the scoping calls. I built a 100,000-user app solo and grew another's subscription revenue 11x in a year. That's the level I work at.

  • What's your timezone overlap with EU and US teams?

Lahore is GMT+5: five hours of overlap with most of Europe, three with US East Coast, and async with US West Coast. Standups work, async PRs work, and I reply to first messages within 24 hours.

  • Full-time or long-term contract?

Either. I take one full-time engagement at a time with a startup in the EU, UK, US, or Canada, and I'll also take long-term contracts of six months or more for the same kind of senior mobile ownership.

  • Do you require visa sponsorship?

Right now I have no work authorization for the EU, UK, US, or Canada, and I'm open to sponsored roles. Most of the time I work remotely from Lahore, which is the default arrangement I'm optimizing for.

  • How quickly can you start?

Within two weeks of an offer, sooner for contracts that don't need offboarding from a current engagement. I don't take more than one full-time role at a time, so when I say yes, I mean it.

  • Can you mentor the rest of the team?

Yes. I review code, set up the test and CI discipline, and write documentation a new engineer can act on. Part of being the senior hire is leaving the team stronger and less dependent on any one person, including me.
